Veil Nebula Hat-trick
Today we added three images of the Veil Nebula to our gallery of products available for printing on canvas. This delicate hat-trick would be an excellent triptych grouping.
In editing these images, we increased the saturation for red, yellow, and blue – primarily in the highlights. That along with a bit of localized sharpening was all this image needed to become spectacular. Additional fine tuning was done on the printed version to add to the wispy nature of the images.
NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope photographed three magnificent sections of the Veil Nebula — the shattered remains of a supernova that exploded thousands of years ago. This series of images provides beautifully detailed views of the delicate, wispy structure resulting from this cosmic explosion. The Veil Nebula is one of the most spectacular supernova remnants in the sky. The entire shell spans about 3 degrees on the sky, corresponding to about 6 full moons.
